Festival of Trees

FAQ's

What is the Festival of Trees?

The Festival of Trees is a fundraiser for the Friends of the Soda Springs Library. It’s also a staple community event, loved and supported by the people of Soda Springs and surrounding areas.

When is the Festival of Trees?

The festival will be held Friday, December 6, 2024 from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm at the library.

What happens at the Festival of Trees?

Local donors, both businesses and individuals, graciously donate fully decorated trees, wreaths, decor, and a variety of gifts (certificates, products/services related to their business, etc.). The trees and wreaths will be sold in a silent auction. There will also be a raffle, and of course - Santa Claus will pay the kids a visit as well! Light refreshments will be available.

Who attends the Festival of Trees?

Everyone! There is something for every age at the Festival. Nothing invites the holiday spirit like a building full of creative and beautiful trees! Even if you aren’t shopping for a tree or wreath, taking a stroll around the library and enjoy light refreshments. Of course, the kiddos will love to visit Santa!

Is there an admission fee for the Festival of Trees?

No, the is no cost to attend the festival.

What types of donations are accepted?

The most common donation is fully decorated trees (any size!) and wreaths to be sold in the silent auction. We will accept gift cards/certificates, products and services related to the donor’s business, home decor, or anything a sponsor would like to give for a raffle! New in 2024: We are offering design services for sponsors who want to donate a tree or wreath but don’t have the staffing or resources - The FRIENDS will purchase the tree and decorate it on behalf of the sponsor. See the “Participation Opportunities” form for additional information. We are thankful for EVERY donation we receive!

What is the expectation for a “fully decorated tree” if I decide to donate?

There isn’t one! Some donors choose to add gift cards, toys, products related to their business, etc. to the tree for some fun (especially for those created for kiddos). Others prefer to donate more traditional trees with the goal of bringing beauty and creativity to a home or business. Some choose a very specific theme. Others decorate with more variety. We love and graciously accept any type of tree! Have fun with it!

What is “Friends of the Library”?

The Friends of the Soda Springs Library is a non-profit 501c(3) that raises and manages funds that are raised for the Soda Springs Library.

What are the FRIENDS currently raising money for?

The short-term need at the library is electrical work. The original building has a VERY limited number of electrical outlets. A current system of power strips and extension cords currently feeds power to the computers, printers, library staff equipment, and charging for patron laptops & phones. Funds would be used to get the current system up to code and add more outlets. The long-term goal is to fund an addition to the east side of the library. The addition would include a community room and classroom-style rooms for patrons needing quiet and privacy.

What is the “program” listed on the sponsorship form?

This is also a new addition to the festival in 2024! The program will be a 8.5”x11” booklet handed out to all attendees at the festival. It will include tree/wreath photos and descriptions, sponsor list, advertisements from local businesses, information about the library and more. If your business is looking for exposure, this is a great way to advertise to a wide range of community members!

What are the deadlines if I choose to participate?

  • All advertisements, logos and payment are due November 1st!

    • Advertisements & logos: email sslibraryfriends@gmail.com

    • Payment: mail check or drop off Friends of the Soda Springs Library, â„… Erica Goode 149 S. Main St. Soda Springs, ID 83276. Make checks payable to (“Friends of the Soda Springs Library”)

  • All tree, wreath and donation commitments are also due November 1st. Late entries may forfeit their right to ads in the program, social media exposure, and more.

I’d like to bid on a tree, but I’m unable to attend that evening. Are there any options?

Yes! All bidding will take place online. Anyone can bid! More details TBA. Buyers will be responsible for picking up and transporting their trees/wreaths from December 9th - 13th.

I’d like to have an advertisement in the program, but I don’t have the resources to do it myself. What are my options?
